CENTRAL MODULE IN C-DOT

INTRODUCTION:
This project is about central module in c-dot. The telephone system has three parts: the switches, the interoffice trunks, and the local loops. The Center for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) is the telecom technology development center of the government. C-DOT DSS MAX is a universal digital switch can be configured for different application as local, transit or integrated local and transit switch. Central module is responsible for space switching of inter-Base Module calls, communication between Base Module and Administrative Modules, clock distribution and network synchronization.

PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION AND PROBLEM FORMULATION: Basically the problems in cm are very rare; even if it occurs it happens mainly among PCBs in cm. And it can be replaced by new PCBs. Here we have to give information without abrupt from IOM and we have to verify the connection between AM and CM. Though it is space switching and also compatible it is old switching unit compared to OCB.

SCOPE OF STUDY:
This Central module is responsible for space switching of inter-Base Module calls, communication between Base Module and Administrative Modules, clock distribution and network synchronization. For these function central module has a Space Switch, Space Switch Controller and Administrative.

DATA COLLECTION:
The central module working is based upon the terminations of BMs, data from IOM and connections from administrative module.

ORGANISATION OF STUDY:
This whole topic can be divided into 3 chapters as follows: 1) Central module working. 2) Working of space switch and space switch controller. 3) Working of central message switch.
