Sybase IQ

Sybase Central is bundled with Sybase IQ but the freeware DbVisualizer seems to be the preferred choice by users. Instructions for setting up DbVisualizer 6.0.7 with Sybase IQ 2.7 1. Download DbVisualizer (http://www.dbvis.com/products/dbvis/download.html ) and install it. 2. Place you sybase jconnect driver in <DbVisualizer-install-dir>/jdbc ( here rev 5.5 ) 3. Choose Create Database Connection but do not use the connection wizard. 4. Give the connection a name ( alias field ) and Sybase ASE as Database Type 5. Click on the pen and notpad icon on the right side of the Driver field. 6. In the Driver Manager window Create a new driver and name it for example JDBC. 7. In the User Specified sheet of the Driver File Paths part of the window, select the fodler icon on the right side, then find and open the jconnect driver you copied in step 2. 8. Specify the URL Format as jdbc:sybase:Tds:<host>:<port>, and then close the Driver Manager window. 9. In the Database Connection window choose your newly created JDBC driver in the Driver field and set an appropriate userid and password in the Authentication part. 10. Finally set the Database URL field according to the URL Format. Some helpful screenshots:
