We have now finished off our unit under Where we are in place and time and are reflecting

on it next week. Our new unit under How we share the planet will start next week. Our central idea is: Minibeasts serve a purpose as they co-exist in their environment . We will be inquiring into: different kinds of mini-beasts the habitats of mini-beasts the purpose of mini-beasts and their relationship to other living things and their environment

If you have any special connection or are an expert and feel like you can contribute in some way, please let us know! In math we will work with subtraction strategies this week, and in language we are continuing to work on a story about a 'happy time'. We will be emphasizing the stages of the writing process (plan, write, revise, check, publish). We worked with the planning stage last week, and will be continuing with writing this week. The sound we will be working with this week is 'ar'. Please remember to bring in library books on Mondays; Rouhia does not let them borrow any books unless they return both the books they have borrowed. On Monday at 9 we will have a practice fire drill. Please make sure your child has indoor shoes in school as we will be going outside without changing into outdoor clothes. The school raised 4,304 kr for the school jog. This money will go to SOS Children's Village. Sign-up sheets for the development talks are up in the main corridor from Monday. Please find a time and sign up as soon as you can! We really appreciate if you can find a time during the 10th, since we have this day set aside specifically for the talks. Remember that the development talks are child centered and a way for your child to express how they feel about school as well as reflecting on what goals they want to focus on. We would like to keep the talks positive and focus on what your child is good at. At home, we would like you to prepare your child for the talk by discussing what they think they are good at in school. Also, please help your child think of one or two goals that they would like to work on during the semester. If you have any questions about this, please let us know!
