Medium Transmission Lines

1. Medium transmission lines have length between 50 km and160 km and line voltage between 21 KV and 100 KV. 2. In such lines the capacitance current of the system is appreciable and as such cannot be neglected. 3. The capacitance is distributed over the whole length of the line but in order to make the calculations simple, the line capacitance is assumed to be lumped or concentrated in the form of capacitors shunted across the line at one or more points.
