• OJT is a distinctive opportunity
provided to the Student Intern to get
exposed to corporate culture,
professional experience and putting the
theoretical concepts learnt in the
classroom for developing managerial
skills along with other skills.
OJT requires discipline, positive attitude,
focused approach and inquisitiveness to
learn.
OBJECTIVES OF OJT
• During OJT Student Interns will know
about implementation of theories which
they have learnt in their classes.
• It is a useful opportunity, where the
student intern study a company for a
specific time period.
• OJT provides a platform for students to
assess themselves. From this training
they came to know about their
strengths and also weaknesses,
DO'S:
• acquire the complete idea of the company/ industry in
which they are placed. This includes understanding the
core business of the company, organizational
hierarchy, functional heads in the company,
manufacturing units, marketing channels and strategy,
policies of HR and Finance.
• get hold of a record of the latest yearly report and
explore the financial statement, as far as possible.
• compose an assessment of the company as well as the
industry and prepare SWOT analysis.
• Always maintain corporate attire for formal
presentations and meetings.
• Always be humble in every dealing and try to maintain
cordial and professional relationships within the
organization.
• Always be optimistic and open to suggestions.
• Always keep a track of the important
issues and points during the
meetings/discussions.
• Get in touch with the company guide and
institutional guide, if the situation
warrants.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of the
company information.
• Consult Faculty Guide or refer textbooks
and other sources to emphasize on
relevant concepts.
• Always submit bills in time when
reimbursement is to be claimed. Get
acquainted with company policies/rules
before incurring expenditure.
• Focus on assignment and complete the
individual responsibilities allotted on
schedule.
DON'TS
• criticize the company policies and/or company
executives.
• criticize or make adverse comments about institute
and/or faculty guide.
• attend the office in informal dress.
• enter into arguments and lose temper.
• mistreat the amenities offered by the company.
• go to meetings and presentations ill-equipped or ill-
prepared.
• be behind schedule.
• leave the office without prior permission
• be impolite or rude to company executives.
• exceed the limits prescribed and try to extract the
information which is confidential in nature .
• hold back any
material/equipment/accessories
provided by the company on a
returnable basis.
• borrow money or any other personal
things of the company executives.
• interfere in third party assignments.
• encourage friends visiting
workplace during office hours
and cause inconvenience to others.
Management Training:
• The student Intern is required to
undertake on the job assignments along
with the day to day functions of the
company, both at the assistance and at
the execution level. This will help the
student intern to gain a deeper
understanding of the work, culture,
targets, deadlines, work pressure etc of
an organization.
• Management training involves teamwork,
goal orientation and managing
interpersonal relationships. Therefore,
they help Student intern to develop the
qualities required for an
Executive/Manager. A good OJT Program
undertaken with all the seriousness
provides an excellent learning
opportunity to the student intern.

Title Page

• The title page is important


because it carries the key
information about the thesis
including the full and definitive
title, and also the name of the
student. The title page also carries
the name of the award for which
the thesis is being submitted, and
also the date of submission.
Declaration
• Declaration: is given by the
student intern about the
authenticity and genuineness of
data used in any report.
Certificate from Company
Guide
• Certificate from company
guide:
• This is issued by the company
guide about the validation of the
report.
Certificate by Faculty Guide
• Certificate from Faculty guide:
this is issued by the faculty stating
that students has completed his
project under his guidance and
supervision.
Acknowledgements
• A statement printed at the
beginning of a report expressing
the student’s gratitude to others,

Abstract /Summary
• Summary is the essence of the
entire report. The objective of the
summary is to provide an overview
of the content. A summary should
be independent and should stand
alone. It is advisable to write it
after the report has been written.
• The abstract is a synopsis of the
entire thesis, including the analysis
of the results and the conclusion

The main function of this section is
to give the reader an overall view
of the report. The main divisions as
well as the subdivisions should be
listed in sequence with page
numbers they are on. It helps the
reader locate a particular topic or
sub-topic easily.
• These are very important from the
perspective of the examiners. They
will read the contents pages very
carefully to gain a preliminary
picture of the structure of the
thesis. The examiners will probably
return again and again to the
contents pages, to remind

Abbreviations

detailed list of the charts or
diagrams or illustrations that
would be incorporated in the
report should be given along
with the page numbers.
