This publication was produced as part of SOUTH-EAST ARCHERITAGE project, funded by the European
Union within the framework of CIUDAD - Cooperation In Urban Development And Dialogue. The draft
South East Archeritage aims to follow the trail of the Roman Empire, in order to develop a tourisminteractive local heritage. The project, officially launched in Cagliari, Italy, brings together partners
from Italy, Romania, Tunisia, and Russia
South-East Archeritage intends to promote tourism development in the province of Cagliari (Sardinia),
in the county of Hunedoara (Romania), in Cap Bon (Tunisia), and in the Krasnodar region (Russian
Federation). These regions share a common historical and cultural heritage due to the long presence of
the Roman Empire in their territories. The basic idea of the project is to recover production processes,
methods, and materials used by the Romans, and to turn them into products that are part of the local
tourist offering. Specifically, the goal is to provide an exciting interactive product which allows tourists
to see and try out the processes, methods and materials used by the Romans to make pottery, oil, wine,
etc., all while creating an international itinerary of production processes and lifestyles simulating those
found in the Roman era. The network of contacts between the four countries will gather together
craftsmen, companies, and small local operators (including women and youth) "
