ABSTRACT This research entitled ATTITUDE OF PARENTS OF CHILDREN WITH DOWN SYNDROME OF THE SPECIAL EDUCATIVE INSTITUTION N 001

SAN JUAN DE DIOS TUMBES 2012. It had as objective identifying and describing the attitudes of parents of children with Down Syndrome. To identify and describe scientifically this fact it was resorted to use a qualitative paradigm with a research approach sensitive creative, being the data collection instrument, the guide of individual interviews semi-structured and considering the saturation of speeches the sample was consisted of 10 couples of parents of children with Down syndrome diagnosis of the Special Educative Institution of exceptional Children San Juan de Dios, where the expressions given by informants helped to identify meaning units which grouped formed categories that are the result of the research: I PARENTAL RELATIONSHIP ATTITUDE AS CONDITIONING FACTOR. II. LOOKING FOR LOVE IN A FRUSTRATING SITUATION. III. FRIENDS AND PARTNERS HAVE INFLUENCE IN NEGATIVE ATTITUDES THAT PARENTS SHOW. IV. NEGATIVE ATTITUDE IN RESPONSE TO ECONOMIC PROBLEMS. Results led to the conclusion that ultimately the type of attitude that parents show with children with Down Syndrome are causes of the continued breakout of the family against the continuous emotional instabilities which are presented for not knowing to provide care to a child of this nature during the period of social adjustment with truncated illusions of life projects, determined situation basically given for emotional or economic reasons and otherwise.
