NORTHERN Ireland was joined in the solemn act of Remembrance for the first time by the Republic of Irelands most senior government figures yesterday.
In an historic gesture, Taoiseach Enda Kenny attended the service in Enniskillen, 25 years on from the IRA Poppy Day bomb. Mr Kenny said his attendance was prompted by the Queens visit to the Republic last year and was further evidence of
closer north-south relations. In Belfast, the Tnaiste, Eamon Gilmore, pictured right, joined First Minister Peter Robinson, Lord Mayor Gavin Robinson and Secretary of State, Theresa Villiers in laying a wreath at the cenotaph.
