As a recent graduate with a Master of Science degree in elementary education, I am confident that you will find my educational background, agreeable disposition, and varied work and life experiences to be valuable assets to the position. As my resume demonstrates, I am entering the field of education with a rich combination of life experience and perspective. I have worked in several different environments including inner city and suburban schools and I have a unique set of skills that will definitely render me an exemplary educator in your school. My areas of strength are many, with one of my fortes being the ability to integrate imagination and creativity into my teaching to engage and inspire young learners. But my greatest asset is in being a culturally relevant and reflective practitioner with core values that engender the makings of a remarkable teacher. I value learner diversity in all its forms. I strive to support all students by holding high expectations for their achievements, scaffolding their learning by tailoring lessons to meet their diverse interests and abilities, and responding to the unique atmosphere of any given class with great flexibility and adaptability. Through all of my positions, including such positions as resource interpreter, camp counselor, designer, shift supervisor, and VP of my college athletic council, I have developed excellent liaison skills and I am able to communicate excellently with all kinds of people and personalities. I have the proven ability to both lead and direct a team as well as be a productive and integral team member. I have a sincere passion and enthusiasm for teaching that goes well beyond it merely being a career choice or job, and I am eager to dedicate myself to such a worthwhile profession. It is this genuine love for teaching that inspires my instructional style and allows me to always be willing to tweak and refine my skills and practices in an effort to evolve and grow as a learner myself. I am keen to learn new teaching techniques, remain current with technology, and incorporate lessons with multiple intelligences and inclusiveness in mind (and heart). I endeavour to inspire children to examine their roles as global citizens and to unlock the potential that lies within each of them. I realize and respect my obligations to teach well, be a role model, and be a resourceful team player who excels at developing strong rapports and building trusting relationships with colleagues, staff, students and their families. I am an intelligent, articulate, energetic and hardworking human being with the attitudes, knowledge and skills that I believe are essential to not just effective, but exceptional teaching.
