or setting. Many works take place within imaginary worlds where magic is common. To complete this task you are required to read a fantasy novel of your choice and complete ONE of the tasks below. The task you complete will depend entirely on where your novel was set in a fantasy world, or in the real world. Presentation: A website, E-book, scrapbook, or movie.
TASK 1. For Novels Set in a Fantasy World Create a guidebook for the imaginary world your novel was set in. Think of it as an introduction to the fantasy world. Be sure to include the following: A map of the fantasy world you are welcome to use a pre-existing map if you can find one, otherwise create your own map showing what you think the world would look like. You may create your fantasy map by hand, or by using your laptop. If you choose to use your laptop check the resources page for software and guides to getting started. Dont forget to use the BOLTSS principles (Border, Orientation, Legend/Key, Title, Scale, Source). On your map make sure you show: o Towns, cities and other important locations. o Where important events from the text took place, including a short explanation of the
event. Introductions to: o The most important people, places and things in the fantasy world. o Invented languages for example J.R.R. Tolkien created several forms of Elvish and Christopher Paolini created the Ancient Language. o The fantasy creatures that appear in the land. Are they dangerous? What do they eat? What powers do they have? o Descriptions of all important locations and the events in the story that transpired there. o Important events in the fantasy worlds history. o Any other information that you think is essential to understanding the fantasy world in your novel. o Bibliography of all sources of information you used to complete this project.
