Ferroelectric ceramics
A ferroelectric ceramic mixes the smartness of a ferroelectric material and the tailoring possibilities of ceramics. Since both kind of materials exhibit many interesting properties, the mixture should be good Ferroelectric domains are generated by coupling between dipole moments of atoms.
Properties of ceramics Mechanical: poor toughness (under study) Electrical: semiconductors, superconductors, piezoelectrics, pyroelectrics, ferroelectrics (BaTiO3, PZT) High resistance to abrasion Excellent hot strength Chemical inertness We can tailor properties for specific applications
A dielectric is an electrical insulator that can be polarized by an applied electric field. When a dielectric is placed in an electric field, electric charges do not flow through the material, as in aconductor
Permittivity The physical constant 0, commonly called the vacuum permittivity, permittivity of free space or electric constant is an ideal, (baseline) physical constant, which is the value of the absolute (notrelative) dielectric permittivity of classical vacuum. Its value is:[1] 0 8.854187817620... 1012 Fm1.
CURIE TEMPERATURE
the Curie temperature (Tc), or Curie point, is the temperature at which a ferromagnetic or a ferrimagnetic material becomes paramagnetic on heating; the effect is reversible. A magnet will lose its magnetism if heated above the Curie temperature.
BATIO3 AREA- 8*6 MM2 PERMITTIVITY OF SPACE 8.85/1000 PF/M C=E0A/T =299/1000 PF
BATIO3 Has a ferroelectric tetragonal phase below its curie temp. at 120 . The temp. of curie point appreciably depands on the impurities present in sample and the synthesis process .
