Learning Outcomes
Demonstrate how to create and record a radio programme/podcast and evaluate its success.

Scenario You are applying for a job at a local radio station and have been asked to create a 15-20 minute extract of a podcast as part of your showreel. Your podcast must include an intro signature tune, an audio sting, radio jingles and sound effects, an interview and relevant music, and you should include relevant artwork and weblinks where appropriate. Assignment 1. Produce a written rationale for your podcast with information about the following: Programme aim/purpose Target audience Presentation style Levels of audience participation Music content Other content (life style issues) Proposed broadcast time 2. Create a draft/guide script with a timeline for your podcast.

3. Create your podcast working to your draft script and timeline using Garageband. Your podcast must include: An introductory signature tune Creation/use of an audio sting Music An interview Mix and export your podcast. 4. Give a video interview and talk about the success of your podcast in relation to the assessment criteria highlighting strengths and areas for development.
