What the First Aider will do: 1. - cover the area with warm hands - tell the patient to get to a warm place 2. - stop the activity or dress more - keep the areas from freezing again 3. - get the person into a warm area to warm up slowly - get them to medical help

HEAT EXHAUSTION: What the First Aider will see: 1. - excessive sweating and dilated pupils 2. - complaints of dizziness, headache, cramps 3. - cold clammy skin, weak, vomiting, unconsciousness
What the First Aider will do: 1. - place in a cool dry place 2. - lie down with feet and legs elevated - remove/loosen extra clothing - get an adult to give salted water 3. - place in recovery position - get medical help
HEAT STROKE: o With heat stroke the patient is hot-to-touch, there is vomiting, convulsions and unconsciousness o Move the patient to a cool place and try to cool them down o Use your First Aid skills o GET MEDICAL HELP!

All burns are serious, but the level of severity depends on how deep into the skin the burn goes. Animal and human bites that break the skin are often contaminated by the saliva. This is a risk for infection and sometimes very serious. To be safe, ALWAYS give first aid to the cut/bite as if it is a serious infection until proven differently. NOTE: Try to identify the animal that did the bite. The authorities will want to examine this animal and/or destroy it. It will be tested for any contaminants.
