MAPEH III SOFTBALL AND BASEBALL are played in a playing field called the diamond because of its shape.

The field is divided into two: the INFIELD which is the inside part of the diamond and the OUTFIELD which is the outside part of the diamond. Players: Pitcher, baseman, catcher, first baseman, center fielder, second baseman, left fielder third

shortstop, right fielder,

TEAM AT BAT the team whose function is to hit the ball and run to the basses after batting. TEAM ON FIELD the team whose function is to catch the ball and put players AT BAT aid on bases are called TEAM ON FIELD. The objective of the game is to hit the pitched ball with a bat and run to the three bases and to the home plate to make a run or a point. A match is played in six innings.

EQUIPMENT Ball is 30 cm in circumference. Have 88 stitches and sewn by a white thread. It weighs 180g to 200g. Bat can be made of wood, metal, plastic, carbon, magnesium, glass fiber approved by ASA. Glove MITT (used by catcher and the 1st baseman and the finger gloves used by any player. Mask with throat protector, body protector shin guards mandatory for the catcher to use. Plates HOME PLATE and PITCHERS PLATE Bases there are three bases.

Plate Umpire Calls if the pitched ball is strike or ball

Calls if the ball landed on foul territory Decides whether a batter ball touches the batter or his clothing Decides whether a batter bunts or chops a ball. Decides whether the caught ball is legal or illegal/foul or good. Decides whether the ball is an infield fly or outfield fly Determines when a game is forfeited.

Base Umpire Assists the plate umpire in every way to enforce rules of the game.

Scorer Lists the batting order of the team at bat in the score sheet. Lists the name of players on field in the score sheet. Checks if the batter at bat is correct according to the batting order. Records the run/point made by the players. Notes down the substitution made by each team. Notes down the time-out made by each team.
