Two Point Angular Perspective

Two point angular perspective is the technical drawing for a two point perspective. The difference between what you know and this drawing if that we need to shoe the correct projection lines from the plan view to come up with the 3D image.

Picture Plane: an imaginary transparent plane (face) on which the plan view sits on. This is placed about of the way up the page.

There are 3 lines we need to include in this drawing: Picture plane Eye level line Ground line

Picture plane

Step one:

Eye Level Line: The eye level line is the sightline determining the direction in which the observer is assumed to be looking

Step two:

Ground line: Ground line is the line that represents the ground, the 3D projection will sit near this line

Step three:

Station Point: this shows where the person and the eye of the observer stands

After determining these lines we need to show the station point.

Step four:

Now we have the layout of lines and points done, we need to draw in our plan view . This should sit on the Picture Plane

Step five:

PROJECTION LINE STEPS

Firstly, find the angle of the plane Secondly, take the same angle from the station point to the picture plane

Step six:

Where those lines (the ones you just drew) meet the picture plane, take vertical lines down to the E.L.L. Next, draw a horizontal line through the station point, where the vertical and horizontal lines meet are our 2 VANISHING POINTS.

Step Eight:

Step Eight:

PROJECTION LINE STEPS Height line: The height line will be taken from the closest corner of the object to the picture plane. (it may be touching it, like this case). To find the H.L take a vertical line from where the corner touches the P.P down to the G.L

Step Nine:

PROJECTION LINE STEPS With all the projection lines in we now need to put an elevation in ( sitting on the G.L)

Step eleven:

Construction of Perspective As out elevation drawings show our height of the building and the sizes on the exterior of the building, we need to take projection lines from the elevation across the page.

Step Twelve:

Construction of Perspective Now we have all the projection lines we can construct the 3d image by taking the closest point on the plan that is projected onto the ground line, to the vanishing points.

Step Thirteen:

Construction of Perspective It is now a matter of looking at the plans and the lines you have projected down into the G.L and E.L.L area and construct your box with a lid

Step fourteen:

Final touches to drawing If you are certain you have completed the drawing correctly, now you can add in your line weight. (e.g detail line (medium weight) and out line (darker line)
