A high ability to identify aspects of a performance using appropriate terminology to describe in detail different components, genres, styles and forms. Excellent knowledge and understanding of core concepts, musical notation and appropriate terminology.

Analysis and Reflection 4.5 4.6


Examine, analyse and reflect upon music works, the arts industry and social influences. Comprehensive analysis and comparison of music from a wide range of styles. Insightful investigation of music from a different culture.

Creatively composes a melody of an advertising jingle and uses electronic technology to create a tune. Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of a selected style in performance. Improvises proficient musical phrases on a pentatonic scale over jazz accompaniment. Confident and highly effective demonstration of musicianship in the development and/or presentation of creative works. Uses correct performance technique. Rehearses and presents a musical performance for a particular audience.

Proficient use of creative skills, techniques, and/or processes to create an advertising jingle. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of a selected style in performance. Inconsistent demonstration of some aspects of musicianship in the development and/or presentation of parts of one or more creative works.
