The quickfix to the virtual router could not be started Filed under: Uncategorized 6 Comments January 29, 2012

problem

As I use Virtual Router a lot for my phone it is important that it is always up and running. Well a few days ago it started behaving strangely. It kept throwing a dialog box saying Virtual Router cannot be started so after doing a little re search I finally found the answer on some chinese dudes blog (sorry for flicking it): (Note: works only on Windows 7) Click start, enter cmd , press ctrl + shift + enter . This allows you to open DOS unde r admin. Copy paste following two commands into cmd, one by one. netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=test key=password netsh wlan start hostednetwork You ll see that your virtual router has already been started with the network name =test and password=password. Stop and change.
