Band-pass Filter, 50 W 890 915 / 935 960 MHz

The Band-pass Filter is suitable for use as a receiving or transmitting filter for one or several receiving or transmitting channels. Band-pass Filter 890 960 MHz

The Band-pass Filter is used when several frequencies are to be attenuated outside a narrow passband. It is particularly suitable for laboratory test purposes, because of its ease of tuning. It can be used: to improve the input selectivity of receivers and amplifiers, to increase the isolation of transmitters whose respective antennas are mounted close together, to suppress noise sidebands and intermodulation products, as a combiner component. Design and construction: The Band-pass Filter consists of capacitively shortened /4 coaxial resonators. The resonators of the multicavity band-pass filter are interconnected by cables of /4 length. The pass band frequency and the insertion loss are tunable. Filter characteristics: Narrow pass band with low insertion loss, high stop-band attenuation. Variable filter curves are possible in order to meet the desired stop-band attenuation. Tuning: The Band-pass Filter is tuned to the desired passband frequency and insertion loss at the factory. Please specify desired pass band frequency and insertion loss (curve A, B, C) when ordering. The Band-pass Filter can also be tuned on site following the instructions provided. 725 705

Band-stop Filter 890 960 MHz

The Band-stop Filter is used when individual frequencies are to be attenuated. It is particularly suitable for laboratory test purposes, because of its ease of tuning. It can be used: to attenuate interfering signals, to increase the isolation between a transmitter and a receiver, to suppress intermodulation products. Design and construction: The Band-stop Filter consists of capacitively shortened /4 coaxial resonators. The resonators of the multicavity band-stop filter are interconnected by cables of /4 length. The stop band frequency and the stop band attenuation are tunable. Filter characteristics: Narrow stop band with high stop band attenuation, low insertion loss outside the stop band range. Tuning: The Band-stop Filter is tuned to the desired stop band frequency and stop band attenuation at the factory. When ordering please specify stop band frequency and stop band attenuation. The Band-stop Filter can also be tuned on site following the instructions provided. The resonators of the 2-cavity or 3-cavity Bandstop Filters can be tuned independently. In this way, 2 or 3 different interfering signals can be suppressed or one single interfering signal can be especially attenuated.

Filter characteristics: Narrow stop band with high stop band attenuation, low insertion loss outside of the stop band. Tuning: The Band-stop Filter is factory-tuned to the indicated stop band frequency. Tuning can also be effected on site: For frequency increase/ decrease only three self-locking tuning screws have to be turned clockwise/counter-clockwise (with a hex socket wrench of width 1.5 mm). Since all three resonators can be tuned independently, two or three separate interfering signals can be attenuated or one single interfering signal can be suppressed with very high attenuation by superposing the stop poles. Please indicate stop band frequency and stop band bandwidth when ordering.

Transmitter Combiners and Multiband Combiners

Hybrid Transmitter Combiner 925 960 MHz

The hybrid transmitter combiner allows two to four transmitters to be combined to a common antenna output. Special features: very narrow spacing of the transmitting frequencies, down to adjacent channel spacing (3 dB/6 dB loss due to design principle) very high isolation between Tx inputs due to built-in circulators easy frequency changing as no tuning is required low space requirement due to compact design Design and construction: The hybrid transmitter combiner uses hybrid ring junctions to combine the transmitters. Each transmitting path incorporates a wide-band dual circulator with integrated absorbers. The absorbers are dimensioned for a total reflection possibly occurring at the output. The dissipation power is fed to the surroundings via the ribbed housing. Customized versions: with a single circulator instead of dual circulator, if lower isolation between the Tx inputs is sufficient with a band-pass filter at the output with power monitoring feature for higher power

Hybrid Transmitter Combiner 1805 1880 MHz

The hybrid transmitter combiner allows several transmitters to be combined to a common antenna output. Special versions: high power hybrid combiner designed for cellular network base stations, more specifically for the PCN/DCS project very narrow spacing of the transmitting frequencies, down to adjacent channel spacing variable transmitter frequencies Design and construction: The hybrid transmitter combiner has three inputs and one output. For combining transmitters one 3 dB coupler and one 4.7 dB coupler are used as hybrid. In each transmitting path a wide-band dual circulator is inserted, which causes very high isolation. This effectively suppresses intermodulation products. The absorbers are dimensioned for a possible total reflection occurring at the output. The combiner also includes a band pass filter at the output.

The multiband combiners can be used: to combine several transmitters and receivers in two different frequency bands to a common feeder cable, to a broad-band antenna, or to a broad-band radiating cable, and, in the reverse operating mode, to separate several transmission or receiving frequencies into two frequency bands. Design and construction: The multiband combiners 722 437 and 722 440 consists of a coaxial low-pass filter and a 3-cavity band-pass filter with /4 resonators. The multiband combiners 728 954 and 791 463 consist of a low-pass and high-pass filter in printed circuit technology.

3-dB Coupler (90 Hybrid) 806 960 MHz

The 3-dB coupler can be used: as a decoupled power splitter with a ratio of 1:1, for the decoupled combining of two transmitters with frequency spacing as narrow as desired (at 3 dB loss), for the decoupled combining of two receivers with frequency spacing as narrow as desired, for the decoupled combining of two transmitter/receiver units, whose integrated duplexers are within the same frequency range, as a frequency-independent 90 phase shifter, as a component to form combiners. Function: The 3-dB coupler has four ports, two of which are decoupled from each other. For example effective power entering into port 1 is distributed into ports 2 and 3. Port 4 is decoupled and without power if ports 2 and 3 are ideally matched. In practice an absorber of suitable power at port 4 is to be planned in accordance with the mismatch of ports 2 and 3. Decoupled combining can be achieved via the diagonally opposite ports 2 and 3 or 1 and 4.

4.7-dB, 6-dB, 7-dB, 10-dB Coupler (90 Hybrid) 806 960 MHz

The 4.7-dB coupler is used as a decoupled splitter for power splitting purposes at a 1 : 2 ratio. An effective power entering into e. g. port 1 is divided between the ports 2 and 3 at a ratio of 1 : 2. Thus 1/3 of the input power (attenuation: 4.7 dB) is available at port 2 and 2/3 of the input power is available at port 3. The 6-dB coupler is used as a decoupled splitter for power splitting purposes at a 1 : 3 ratio. An effective power entering into e. g. port 1 is divided between the ports 2 and 3 at a ratio of 1 : 3. Thus 1/4 of the input power (attenuation: 6 dB) is available at port 2 and 3/4 of the input power is available at port 3. The 7-dB coupler is used as a decoupled splitter for power splitting purposes at a 1 : 4 ratio. An effective power entering into e. g. port 1 is divided between the ports 2 and 3 at a ratio of 1 : 4. Thus 1/5 of the input power (attenuation: 7 dB) is available at port 2 and 4/5 of the input power is available at port 3. The 10-dB coupler is used as a decoupled splitter for power splitting purposes at a 1 : 9 ratio. An effective power entering at e. g. port 1 is divided between the ports 2 and 3 at a ratio of 1 : 9. Thus 1/10 of the input power (attenuation: 10 dB) is available at port 2 and 9/10 of the input power is available at port 3. Port 4 is decoupled and remains free of power if the ports 2 and 3 are ideally matched. In practice an absorber of suitable power at port 4 is to be planned in accordance with the mismatch of ports 2 and 3. 3-dB Coupler with Cable Absorber 806 960 MHz

The 3-dB Coupler with Cable Absorber is designed to combine two BTS (Base Transceiver Stations) onto one antenna in order to save feeder cable and antenna costs.

Antenna Tx1

Tx2

Contrary to standard absorbers, the here

by implemented cable absorber provides excellent intermodulation performance The frequency spacing between transmitter signals can be as small as required DC signals at Tx1 port are passed to antenna port DC signals at Tx2 port are short-circuited Suitable for indoor applications

Note: The 3-dB Coupler with Cable Absorber is designed for a max. input power of 150 W per input (in total 300 W). Wall-mounting of the device is recommended with the cooling ribs running in a vertical direction (see photo) in order to dissipate the max. heat power of 150 W and not to over-heat the unit. When installed in a 19 rack, it must be ensured that the max. heat power of 150 W is sufficiently dissipated, so that the ambient temperature does not rise above +50 C. This can be achieved for example by the additional installation of a correspondingly dimensioned ventilator in the 19 rack or by reducing the maximum input power. The max. connector coupling torque of 25 Nm is not to be exceeded.

When installed in a 19 rack, it must be ensured that the max. heat power of 100 W is sufficiently dissipated, so that the ambient temperature does not rise above +50 C. This can be achieved for example by the additional installation of a correspondingly dimensioned ventilator in the 19 rack or by reducing the maximum input power. The max. connector coupling torque of 25 Nm is not to be exceeded.

Hybrid Ring Junction (180 Hybrid) 806 960 MHz / 1710 1880 MHz

The hybrid ring junction can be used: as a power splitter with a ratio of 1:1, for the decoupled combining of two transmitters with arbitrarily low frequency spacing ( at 3 dB loss), for the decoupled combining of two receivers with arbitrarily low frequency spacing, for the decoupled combining of two transmitter/receiver units, whose integrated duplexers are within the same frequency range, as component to form combiners.

Port 1

Port 2

Port 3

Port 4

Description: The hybrid ring junction has four ports, two of which are decoupled from each other. For example effective power entering into port 1 is distributed into ports 2 and 4, port 3 is decoupled and without power if ports 2 and 4 are ideally matched. In practice an absorber of suitable power at port 3 is to be planned for according to the mismatch of ports 2 and 4. Decoupled combining can be made via ports 1 and 3 or 2 and 4.

Decoupled Power Splitter 806 960 MHz

The decoupled power splitter can be used: for power distribution, e. g. from one common antenna to several receivers with frequency spacing as narrow as desired, for power distribution, for example: from one transmitter to several outputs, for decoupled combining of several transmitters with frequency spacing as narrow as desired (at 4.7 dB or 6 dB loss), for decoupled combining of several transmitting/ receiving units, whose integrated duplexers are within the same frequency range. Function: The decoupled 3:1 power splitter has 3 inputs, one output, and 3 absorber ports. The decoupled 4:1 power splitter has 4 inputs, one output, and 4 absorber ports. The inputs are only decoupled if the absorber ports are terminated with 50 loads of suitable power. Dimensioning the external absorbers: The absorbers of the 3:1 power splitter must be dimensioned so that at least 2/3 of the power fed into the inputs can be absorbed. Example: If a power of 50 W is fed into every input, then the absorbers must be able to absorb 33 W each. The absorbers of the 4:1 power splitter must be dimensioned so that at least 3/4 of the power fed into the inputs can be absorbed. Example: If a power of 50 W is fed into every input, then the absorbers must be able to absorb 37 W each.
