The ambitious BRTS corridor project of the city which has already suffered inordinate delays on account of tardy

progress of the work, has also earned flak from the World Bank officials. Taking a serious note of the tardy progress of the project, the World Bank officials have directed various authorities associated with the BRTS project to remove bottleneck and expedite its works so that work on this project is completed at the earliest. A meeting of the senior officials of the World Bank, Union Ministry of Urban Development, district administration, Indore Development Authority and Indore municipal corporation was held in this regard, at the headquarter of Atal City Bus Services Limited on Tuesday. The meeting was aimed at to get a status report of the ongoing development works in the city including the BRTS corridor being carried out in Indore and other cities of the country in association with the World Bank and discuss the problems being faced in the implementation and suggest measures to overcome the bottlenecks. The World Bank official Nupur Gupta talking about the review meeting said the under-construction BRTS corridor of the Indore is running behind the schedule. We have taken serious note of the tardy progress of the work and accordingly have directed the implementing authorities to finish the work BRTS corridor at the earliest by removing bottlenecks coming in the way. AICTSL CEO Gautam Singh said the review meeting discussed the current status of BRTS corridor, construction works remaining on the project, the areas where problems are being faced on the BRTS corridor among others. Besides, the meeting also discussed status of tenders for new city buses, number of city buses plying on the road as well as the number of buses which have been purchased.
