Week 6 Journal Reflection

I have come to the conclusion that there needs to be an aid that comes in once a week to help teachers fill the holes in their grade books. I never realized how hard it was to make sure that everyone has a grade for everything that you have given! I spent an hour just figuring out who needs to do what and organizing the work that he/she needs to complete. The students are responsible for making sure that whoever is absent is given the work that they need, but that does not include quizzes and tests. In addition, you have to constantly keep up with the work that is being turned in separate than the class. Documentation! I never thought about the idea of saving all of teachers emails as a form of documentation. My teacher shared with me that she had 900 emails! I was surprised! Model what you want to your students to do! We hear this all throughout the education program. It is a definite! My teacher has taught me the importance of modeling behavioral manners for her students. She says yes/no maam/sir to her students. She lets her students know she loves and cares about them, their lives, and how they represent themselves.
