COMMENTS: (strengths, areas for growth, next steps): Robyn's strength lies in her knowledge and enthusiasm for Science and especially Chemistry. She also responds well to constructive criticism and implements very quickly changes and modifications to her practice in the classroom. Her work on the whiteboard has vastly improved and she is fielding and answering questions from the students well. She needs to continue to manage her time carefully during the lesson and to ensure that key material and information is covered. More time spent preparing and walking through her lessons ahead of time will help Robyn feel more relaxed during a lesson. As the last few weeks progressed, Robyn was handling the transition from Grade 11 Chemistry, Grade 10 Science and the Resource Room in one day more easily. More attention and focus on assessment and reporting results would be beneficial during her next practicum. Contextual or extenuating circumstances surrounding the evaluation of this teacher candidate: The last two weeks of Robyn's practicum were difficult in that our labour dispute required her to not arrive more than 15 minutes before the bell in the morning and leave school within 15 minutes of the bell at the end of the day. This allowed her very little time to prepare at school and limited consultation and reflection with me. She showed grace under that pressure. ASSOCIATE TEACHER'S OVERALL RECOMMENDATION TO FACULTY ADVISOR: Developing: Given that this is the teacher candidate's first field placement, he/she is developing as expected.
