Title of Activity: Hunter, Fire, Earthquake

Number of Teams & Group Size: Involve all participants Participants should be in groups of 3, no more, no less

Logistics Needed: None

Time Allocated: 10 - 20 minutes

Goal: To form groups of 3 in the correct manner

Preparation & Set-Up: Conduct this activity in a large, empty area

Directions for Conducting the Activity: 1. Instruct participants to form groups of 3. 2. Within their groups, they should appoint 2 people to form Trees. The Trees must link both their hands just above head level. The remaining person is the Squirrel. The Squirrel should stand under their hands. Squirrels should hold out their hands at chest level, with palms facing inwards and downwards. 3. If there are additional people unable to form groups of 3, invite them to join you - there should only be 1 or 2 people left at most. 4. Inform all participants that you (or the people with you), will announce a keyword shortly. The 3 keywords are Hunter, Fire, and Earthquake. 5. If Hunter is announced, all Squirrels will leave their current group, and find a new set of Trees to take shelter in. All Trees will remain where they are. 6. If Fire is announced, all Trees will leave their current group, and find a new Squirrel to shelter. All Squirrels will remain where they are.

7. If Earthquake is announced, everyone will move and change groups. Anyone can now become a Tree or a Squirrel. 8. If there are additional people, they should try to join in when the keyword is announced. This will cause someone else to be left out, invite this person to announce the next keyword.

Specific Rules: 1. Participants must be in groups of 3 at all times, consisting of 2 Trees, and 1 Squirrel, performing the correct actions. 2. Participants should only move when they hear the keyword related to them being announced - Hunter, Fire, or Earthquake. 3. [Optional - Only if safety is compromised] No running or shoving is allowed.

Variations: 1. Substitute Birds instead of Squirrel. Action for Birds Hold hands close beside your body, like wings.

Facilitator Notes: Be mindful of conducting this activity in regions where natural disasters like forest fires or earthquakes take place, as it might be sensitive for participants. Also watch out for the safety of participants, as they might run around the area. If need be, you could impose a rule that no running is allowed.
