Bangla bans umpire for 10 years: The Bangladesh Cricket Board on Monday banned umpire Nadir Shah for

10 years on charges of corruption. Shah will not be considered for retainership for 10 years and during thisperiod he will not be eligible for any assignment under the jurisdiction of the BCB, the board said in a statement. The 49-year-old Shah stood in 40 ODIs before corruption charges against him were brought up by an Indian television channel during a sting operation last year. The BCB formed a special committee which recently completed its inquiry and submitted its recommendations.

The Pepsi IPL 2013 will commence with an Opening Ceremony on the evening of Tuesday, 2 April 2013, at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata. The IPL has signed Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt Ltd as promoters for the Opening Ceremony. We are delighted to have tied up with Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt Ltd, which has a proven track record of organising and executing events on a grand scale. The Opening Ceremony of the Pepsi IPL 2013 will be one of the most spectacular events ever witnessed, in keeping with what will follow in the tournament itself, over the following seven weeks, Rajeev Shukla, Chairman, IPL, said. Further details pertaining to the Opening Extravaganza will be announced over the next few days. The Pepsi IPL 2013 will be played across the country from 3 April 2013 to 26 May 2013.
