Gado gado recipe made easy. Gado gado is a very popular Indonesian salad.

It consist of vegetables (fresh or steam : cucumber,lettuce,steam cabbage, green bean, bean sprout) and a peanut sauce dressing. Ready peanut sauce dressing in dried block can be obtained from traditional market and super market In Indonesia. If you are out of the country and develop a craving for gado gado then this recipe is your answer. The recipe is practical and it takes less than 15 minutes to make. It is convenient and suitable for a busy mom, student or expatriate missing this Indonesian delicacy. Peanut sauce dressing Ingredients : 4 cloves of garlic 1 tablespoon oil 4 chilies (or according to taste) 3 tablespoons coarse peanut butter 1 glass of water ( 200 ml) 3 tablespoons sugar (or according to taste) tea spoon salt Optional 1 tea spoon of fried fish (i.e.pilchard canned in brine ) substituting dried shrimp paste. 1 tablespoon lemon juice substituting tamarind.

Preparation method : 1. Chop garlic, combine with oil in a ceramic saucer and heat in microwave for 1 minute. 2. Combine all ingredients including heated garlic in a blender. Blend until smooth. 3. Pour the dressing in a ceramic bowl 4. Heat the dressing in microwave for two minute. Stir and heat for another minute. Stir. 5. Pour dressing on vegetables. To serve : Rice or boiled potatoes Boiled egg, fried tofu or tempe or chicken
