COMMENTS:

Stephanie has done a great job during this placement. She clearly has a love of children, which shows through in all of her interactions. Stephanie made a point of connecting with the students each time she was in the classroom. She developed a good rapport with the children within the short time she was in our class. The children enjoyed working and playing with her, and often asked when she would be returning. (One child was even hoping to see her on a trip to Indiana!) Stephanie easily jumped in to help no matter the activity. She was able to determine what help the students needed and helped to facilitate their learning. Stephanie lead a shared writing lesson that gave the students a nice introduction to making lists. She was aware of the students learning needs and was able to adapt her lesson based on the reactions, responses, and participation of the students. She was able to reflect on the lesson and recognized areas where changes could be made and where the students may have needed a little more support. Stephanie shows an understanding of classroom management, and child development, and individual learning needs of students.
