With plants for leading-edge LCD panels and thin-film solar cells*1, the new Green Front Sakai factory complex will ensure the most efficient manufacturing processes and consumption of energy. In Sakai, Sharp will produce LCD panels for TVs that are the worlds top class in every respect: image quality, performance and cost. The complex combines in an ideal way the production of LCD panels and Sharp thin-film solar cells as the biggest*2 solar factory worldwide with a production capacity of one gigawatt.

This provides a picture with 100/120 frames per second (double the conventional 50/60 frames per second) by supplementing the picture with Sharps unique algorithm. New Generation of Environmental Performance from the 40LE700M and 46/40LB700M

P Full LED With the Sharp full LED system, the distance from the LED light source to the screen is shorter than when using the conventional edge light method. This reduces the light required to view the same picture and decreases power consumption. P X-Gen Panel Compared to the conventional Advanced Super View panel, the new X-Gen panel has a wider aperture ratio, allowing easy light transmission through the panel. This greatly helps to achieve a high contrast ratio with less power. P Long-life 100,000-hour LED Backlight Through the use of a direct LED backlight system, Sharp has achieved a backlight operation of 100,000 hours before brightness decreases by one half. This provides a longer service life than conventional CCFL systems. P Optical Picture Control (OPC) OPC automatically adjusts the screen brightness according to the ambient room brightness. Revolutionary Dynamic Sound System (RDSS)

Large-screen LCD TVs have been plagued by vibration noise due to resonance frequencies while reproducing highvolume deep bass. Sharp solves this problem by creating a compact but large-volume speaker system that reproduces dynamic bass with the Revolutionary Dynamic Sound System (RDSS). The system uses an active (powered) speaker and twin passive (unpowered) speakers.

The digital filter in Sharps RDSS adjusts the sound wave frequency distortion that occurs in small speakers, enabling output of low-frequency sound beyond the usual limit.

The Bass Enhancer system creates powerfull bass at low frequencies befitting a large display by using an advanced digital system. Both SRS TruSurround XT and SRS TruSurround HD produce a multichannel audio experience that creates a sensation of being surrounded by sound while using only two front-facing speakers. The listener can experience 5.1-channel content without needing five speakers and a subwoofer. Blu-ray Disc

The Compact Disc Digital Audio system, or CDDA, is the standard for audio CDs. It specifies the digital audio encoding as two channels of PCM audio, each signed 16-bit values sampled at 44,100 Hz. The maximum recording time is approximately 80 minutes on a 12-cm CD. Unlike analog records, the sound quality does not deteriorate even if the CD is played many times.
