The monthly mean values of the 500-hPa geopotential height (NCEP/NCAR reanalysis database) have been used to calculate
the values of the zonal and meridional circulation indices spanning the time interval 19492007 for southern East Siberia. An
analysis is made of the variation in atmospheric circulation intensity over the study territory.
