VASHON PARK DISTRICT ACCOUNTING/BOOKKEEPING INTERNSHIP Location Vashon, WA Description Vashon Park District, nestled in the heart of beautiful Vashon Island, is offering an exciting Spring/Summer government accounting internship opportunity that assists a bustling Park District office through the busy high season months. Park District payroll blossoms with the opening of a community pool and skate park. Payables tracking and timely payment response increases as the Park District moves forward with the completion of a ball field Public Works Project, necessitating accurate budget tracking in the context of King County oversight and the Washington State Resource Conservation Office grant fulfillment requirements. Manage user fee deposits and budget classifications for recreation groups to include adult and youth baseball, soccer, and Lacrosse. Use your QuickBooks accounting system background to monitor budgets for park maintenance, facility rentals, School District/Parks ball field usage, Point Robinson Lighthouse and Fern Cove vacation lodging rentals, in addition to theater and concert-in-the-park programs and summer camps. The Vashon Park District office is within a five minute walk to restaurants, galleries, book stores, sports shops, and all the small-town amenities that serve a sunny summer Island community.
