Evaluation Summary on Low/Medium/High Performing Students

Low Performance Student-Jordan In all of my lessons, my lowest student was Jordan. For my first lesson, in the pre-assessment, he needed help recognizing numbers. During the postassessment he needed help cutting and gluing objects. During the pre-assessment of lesson two he could not answer all the questions. He could count backwards from five if I showed him my fingers and helped him. In most of my preassessments and post-assessments, he would not answer the questions I asked him. Most of the time it would simply be him agreeing with me or just shaking his head. During class, he does not talk that often. He rarely talks to the teachers as well. During some of my lessons he would answer simple questions. For the last lesson about careers, he really showed me he was listening and responded to some of the questions I had asked. I was really proud of him. Medium Performance Student-AJ AJ, would be the medium performing student because he is very smart and knew much more than most students in the classroom. In the assessments, he would almost always have the correct answer or could answer it. In some assessments he was not sure about, but with help he would figure it out. During class, he would always say things that the rest of the four year olds would not know. For example, he knew how to count in Spanish up to ten. That was really surprising to me. During assessments or small group activities he had a hard time focusing. He would be focusing on the other students in the centers rather than his work and would mess up. He could color, cut, and glue as well, but there still could be some improvement. High Performance Student-Kira In all of my lessons, she was the highest performing student. There were times she did not all the answers but she could figure them out with my help. In the first lesson, she really showed me that she understood the lesson and the story by telling me the objects in order. While doing assessments with her, if she did not know exactly she could always figure it out. In my last lesson, she did not know exactly what career meant, but after giving her some clarification, she could answer the rest of the questions. She was very good at cutting and gluing objects. She could also color very well. I would say her fine motor skills are very well developed for her age. While coloring she would always be sure to stay in the lines. She was a very bright child that is very well developing at this stage.
