16, 2013 To Whom It May Concern, I am privileged to write this letter of reference for Michelle Maher in her application for future employment in your school. Michelle currently works at Rainbow International School as the middle years Social Studies teacher. I have had the good fortune of working with Michelle in many capacities throughout the 2012-2013 school year. As her head teacher and middle years coordinator, I consider her to be an excellent candidate for your school. Michelle demonstrates confidence, and enthusiasm in her teaching. There is much evidence in classes observed both formally and informally of solid lesson planning as well as long-range unit planning. She demonstrates a clear understanding of her students, content and the diverse learning needs in her classes. She uses a wide variety of instructional strategies in meeting the different learning needs and styles. Furthermore, she is conscious of incorporating high levels of involvement of all students. While Michelle has shown she is competent in the classroom, she is open to new ideas and attempts suggested management and assessment techniques. Good schools have teachers who are willing to go the extra mile. Michelle is one of these teachers. She exhibits great initiative and assumes many responsibilities outside the classroom. She is extremely capable with technology, single handedly directed and choreographed a school wide musical, is the secretary of the PTA and and is currently working on a steering community in a very extensive accreditation process. She is a risk taker as well as a valued team member. She clearly demonstrates many aspects of an experienced teacher and will enjoy a successful career as a future educator.
