1. TAPPING ORIENTATION i. Location of Pressure Taps in horizontal pipes: a.

AIR/GAS SERVICE: Dry G as: Orientation hardly matters Wet Gas: Tapping should be vertical, less than 45 deg off the vertical meridian. b. LIQUID SERVICE: Tapping to be oriented in a meridian plane with which the horizontal meridian plane is forming an angle not greater than 45 deg above or below as per the cases outlined below: Clean liquid: In case of clean liquid there are chances of formation of gases in impulse lines. Hence, tapping should be below the horizontal. Significant solid content: Tapping should be oriented above the horizontal. Significant gas content: Horizontal tap along with gas vents and gas collecting chambers.

c. STEAM SERVICE: In the horizontal median plane i.e. to the side of the line.

ii. Location of Pressure Taps in horizontal pipes No restriction in radial position. 2. DRAIN / VENT a. DRAIN- AIR/GAS SERVICE: At the lowest points of air or gas impulse lines provision for drainage is to be provided.

b. VENT- LIQUID SERVICE: In pipelines for liquids vent is to be provided at the highest points. 3. SLOPING a. AIR/GAS SERVICE: b. LIQUID SERVICE:
