JOMC Students Cover the DNC


Journalism students used their print, electronic, multimedia and social media skills to cover the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. in September, 2012 .

They produced news content for WNAA-FM and its web site, the university's closed circuit TV station, and the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication's news web portal The JOMC Journal.
They also used Facebook and Twitter to promote their efforts.

QEP and DNC


The project reflected the philosophy behind QEP by:
1. Demonstrating students' oral and written communication skills 2. Providing a unique experiential learning opportunity 3. Requiring them to synthesize traditional print, electronic and multimedia journalism skills learned in the classroom and apply them in a real-world setting under deadline 4. Forcing them to become problem solvers.
