1. Curriculum Standards Addressed: K-1.3 Predict and explain information or events based on observation or previous experience. EEDA: 2.5. Understand consequences of decisions SSCA: (3) a description of appropriate student behavior; 2. Cross Curricular Connections: cross curricular connected with art. 3. Instructions Objective(s) Criteria: By the end of the lesson students will make a prediction about which egg they think will spin the best and explain why. 4. Assessment(s) of the objectives: Pre: The students being able correctly make a prediction. During: The students participation in the activity. Post: The students being able to explain why the boiled egg spins better than the raw egg. 5. Materials/Resources: Eggs Cardboard boxes Big Post-it 6. Prerequisites (Prior Knowledge): The students will need to know what it means to make a prediction 7. Procedures: 1. We will gather on the carpet and I will explain to the students that I have two eggs. One of them is boiled, and the other is raw. If they have any questions about what boiled and raw is we will go into further discussion about it. I will then tell them that one of the eggs will spin really well like a top, and that the other will spin but its very slow and wobbles around. I will then tell them that they are going to make a prediction on which egg they think will spin the best, the boiled egg or the raw egg. 2. I will then have the students write down there name on the chart under which one they think will spin the best, and explain why they think that. After everyone has made their prediction I will tell them that we are going to experiment and see which one spins the best. I will have the eggs labeled, the raw egg A and the boiled egg B.

3. I will then explain the rules to the students. After everyone has made it clear that they understand the rules and the consequences if not followed, they will then be dismissed to their tables. Everyone will have a chance to roll the eggs to see which one spins the best. Once everyone has completed the experiment we will gather back at the carpet to discuss what everyone found out and if their prediction was correct. I will then explain to the students why it is that the boiled egg is the one that spins t he best. 8. Accommodations: The teacher will wear the microphone while giving the lesson so that the student with hearing impairments will be able to hear and understand what is expected of him. 9.
