Materials
Coating: < Use of reclaimed powder shall not exceed 10% by weight of original. < Test required - instrumental analysis, IR and DTA - gel time - moisture content - bend tests - cathodic disbonding tests Abrasives: < less than 100 ppm sulfates and chlorides, less than 2 % carbonates

Cleaning and surface Preparation


< Oven burn-off at temperature of 370 400 C to remove oily contaminants < Residual Chlorides shall be no greater than 40 mg m2 for one out of every 50 pipes/fittings

Coating Application
< 350 to 525 micrometers for less than 65C (subsea ) or 93C (dry ground ) < 575 to 750 micrometers for less than 82C (subsea ) < 1000 micrometers maximum for fittings and couplings < cut back shall be 38 to 65mm from end of pipe < 0.5% - acceptable non-injurious

Inspection requirements
< Coating Thickness test - SSPC PA 2 in at least five equidistant places - loose fittings at least 5 locations - 6 inch and smaller at least 3 locations < Adhesion Test - One every hour or 20 pipe lengths, reduced to one every 2 hrs or 50 pipe lengths. - X cut 13 mm long - less than 80 C allowed to cool < Holiday Detection - less than 88 C - 75 cm/s travel rate - 2400 volts max for 350 to 750 micrometers < Bend Test - One per shift or every one hundred pipe lengths - Shall be done less than 30 seconds. < Cure Test - By Differential Scanning Calorimeter - Twice per shift

Repairs
< Small Defects shall be less than 1450 sq mm < Large Defects shall be greater than 1450 sq mm
