a surprisingly diverse and compelling landscape in a densely-developed area of northern Will County/ South Cook County. Saturday 4/27/13, from 8:00 9:30 a.m.
Re-connect with the natural world and our areas spring bird migrants and residents on a bird walk with the Land Conservancy of Will County. This compact, 45-acre natural area has prairie, wetlands and riparian hedge habitat supporting an inspiring bird population.
Jon Mendelson, retired Professor emeritus of Environmental Biology from Governors State University, will lead the ninety minute bird walk. Jon taught ornithology at Governors State and he has long been interested in regional environmental issues, particularly land preservation. He was chair of the Thorn Creek Ecosystem Partnership Technical Committee, a very successful watershed- based group, advocating for increased habitat protection and enhancement in Will and Cook Counties.

Meet at park entrance at Foxglove Lane and Crystal Creek Drive, a few blocks south of West 187th and east of Wolf Road, in Mokena, IL.
