This book focuses mainly on how maintaining the wild burro population is important, and it was written during the time the Wild-Free Roaming Horses and Burros Act of 1971 was passed. Featherly, Jay. This book was very informative about how mustangs interact with each other and what the affects of losing herd members has on them. This book is a great primary source because the authors went out into the west and spent a long time with the horses and developed relationships with them. They learned the knowledge firsthand. The organization raises awareness for the mustangs and the particular article Wild Horse and Burro Act makes a good argument that the horses enrich the lives of Americans and are a part of the history of the west.
