Earth filling

1. Lay out the centerline and set out the extent of runway extension, parking apron extension, approach light area extension and toe of embankment slopes which require earth filling.

2. Provide temporary drainage to keep dry the excavated trench. Where temporary drainage cannot be maintain dry, earth bunds will be created to partition the excavated trench into section. Each sections where backfill is about to commence, must be kept dry by means of pushing with the bulldozers.

3. Construct the embankment in layer of loose depth established from trial compaction.
