Standards of behaviour for staff working with children and young people
General principles The British Council treats children and young people with dignity and respect in all areas of its work. It takes all reasonable measures to control known and foreseeable risks to children and young people involved in its activities. If you work with children or young people, you are in a position of trust. It is important that you acknowledge the influence you have on children's and young people's development. You must take care to ensure your behaviour is appropriate at all times. This is important both in safeguarding children and young people, and in protecting staff from wrongful accusation.
