It has been a pleasure to work with Shari Wickline over the course of this school year (2012/2013). Shari has spent one day each week at Tippecanoe Middle School assisting in a variety of activities in library media center. Shari has demonstrated an exceptional knowledge of library media education and information literacy standards, the emerging Common Core standards, and 21st century pedagogy. She is enthusiastic and always eager to engage with students. It is obvious from working with her that she has a passion for empowering students and staff by teaching and sharing information literacy and technology skills. While here at Tippecanoe Middle School, Shari has created interactive displays to encourage browsing and reading for new books. She has also created interactive displays that begin in the hallway and engage and encourage students and staff to come in to the library media center. Shari has also taken on the task of updating our school library website, making it a portal for our student information-seekers. Shari also developed, implemented, and taught an after-school enrichment program for students interested in learning more about a variety of Web 2.0 tools. This program ran weekly over the course of 4 months and gave students the opportunity to learn beyond the classroom. I am confident that Shari will be a valuable addition to any school or library as well as their patrons - that she seeks employment with.
