Objective As educators, we must not forget that we are teaching individuals with their own needs at different levels of learning. Developing activities to offer real situations allows students to expand their own intrinsic motivation to learn. I am a strong supporter for hands on, deep learning because I understand that by enhancing the curriculum with a variety of activities is essential to the learning process. Assessed students by implementing weekly progress monitoring. Taught Language Arts to grades K-6 using Storytown intervention level and grade level, using individualized methods. Students were assessed students weekly on accuracy and comprehension. Wrote academic goals for students based on curriculum standards and students level. Integrated SMART Board technology into language arts and math lessons. Analyzed test data to drive instruction in language arts and math. Implemented a classroom management plan explicitly stating expectations, procedures, respect to others, and making successful choices. Developed and implemented classroom rules and consequences. Developed culturally diverse and differentiated lesson plans in conjunction with the site teacher. Taught to the 7th and 8th grade language arts classes about parts of speech, persuasive essays, strategies for comprehending while reading. Taught to the 7th and 8th grade language arts classes multiply multiple digit number, review of the place value system, and long division, introduced rate and ratios. Emerson Elementary, Salt Lake City School District Aug 09- June 10 Paraprofessional in Emotional Disabilities Classroom Attended to students in their mainstream classroom. Worked with the special education teacher, general education teacher and the autism specialist on behavior interventions and strategies for desired behaviors.
