Metasearch www.metacrawler.com
Sends your keywords to several search engines at the same time engines. This is the best way to look for a specific piece of information. The Ask/AJ/Ask Jeeves search engine is a long-time name in the world wide web. The super-clean interface rivals the other major search engines, and the search options are as good as Google. Ask is a major search engine which is growing by the minute. Bing is Microsoft's attempt at unseating Google. Bing used to be MSN search until it was updated in summer of 2009. Touted as a 'decision engine', Bing tries to support your researching by offering suggestions in the leftmost column, while also giving you various search options across the top of the screen. Yahoo is several things: it is a search engine, a news aggregator, a shopping center, an emailbox, a travel directory, a horoscope and games center, and more. This 'web portal' breadth of choice makes this a very helpful site for Internet beginners.

3. Complete the following chart and answer the questions that follow: i. Which method returned the most results? Why? Using the Boolean operator OR returned 345 million pages. Using AND returned about 60 million ii. Google uses the same Boolean operator for a two word phrase. Which one is it? Explain. The results for Google and using the Boolean operator AND were nearly the same. When you use two keywords Google looks for all instances of both words on the pages. If you want to search a specific phrase, then put quotation marks around the whole phrase. iii. Which method returned the BEST results for your purposes? Why? Less is more. You do not have time to look through millions of pages. You can also limit your results by either using an advanced search, changing your keywords to make them more specific, or search other terms within the results. iv. Why do the results change when you perform the same search using the same terms and techniques? Page on the internet are always moving and changing around since the web owners may make changes. Not all of the pages are available all the time. There may be down times caused by internet traffic and the dependability of web hosts. Also, search engines are continually spidering the web to index, add and remove pages from their database.

Our high school Mary Ward C.S.S. is taken up the challenge to become a greener and environmental conscious school. After creating a survey with seven questions, I asked five Mary Ward students from grade 9 to grade 12 to complete my survey; I asked different grades because I needed my survey to be as accurate as possible. I tried my best to make the survey as simple as possible as I did not want students to rush through it and provide bogus information. I wanted the survey to be as accurate as possible. After viewing the result of my survey, I transformed that data into several bar graphs. I was honestly surprised by the results as it awoke my attention toward my community and the Mary Ward ecological footprint. According to my data only 20% of the students surveyed agreed that they use the green recycling bins found throughout the school. In return, this tells us that 80% of Mary Ward students dont use the recycling bins at school. That is 960 students out of 1200 that do not use the green bins. This is an astonishing number and must change! These results were surprising and made me understand that our school has a relatively large ecological footprint which can definitely be much less with the help and dedication from everyone. On the contrary, 4 out of the 5 students said that they use the new water re-fill stations all the time and in return, they stopped using plastic water bottles at school. That is 80% of the school population around 960 students that stopped using plastic water bottles. If each student stayed with their promise and stopped bringing plastic water bottles to school, as a school we would be saving 960 water bottles from being used each day. The re-fill station saves the school 192,000 plastic bottles each school year. That is if each student brought 1 water bottle to school each day. Becoming a greener school isnt an easy task; it takes effort from every student. After analyzing these results, I would conclude that our school has a relatively large environmental impact. I would suggest that the school installs more water re-fill stations, as my data proves that it is being used. I would also suggest that less paper be printed, use online learning networks such as eclass to post electronic units, why print? Also, to help reduce electricity consumption, students must turn off computer monitors after use. All in all, Mary Ward C.S.S. is a large school with hundreds of students that follow a different learning system (units) but if we all work together, and put our minds together, we can achieve a lower environmental impact on our community. It starts with reducing, reusing and recycling. One Cent at a Time. 101 Ways to Save Energy and Environment March. 03, 2011 http://onecentatatime.com/101-ways-to-save-energy-environment/

Cellular/Mobile Phone
A mobile phone (also known as a cellular phone, cell phone and a http://www.bell.ca hand phone) is a device that can make and receive telephone calls over a radio link while moving around a wide geographic area. It does so by connecting to a cellular network provided by a mobile phone operator (Bell, Rodgers) allowing access to the public telephone network. In addition to telephony, modern mobile phones also support a wide variety of other services such as text messaging, MMS, email, Internet access, short-range wireless communication and applications.
