will you create an oral presentation about the information you gathered on your dinosaur? Standards: CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.2.7 Participate in shared research and writing projects (e.g., read a number of books on a single topic to produce a report; record science observations). CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.2.8 Recall information from experiences or gather information from provided sources to answer a question. CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.2.2 Write informative/explanatory texts in which they introduce a topic, use facts and definitions to develop points, and provide a concluding statement or section. Learning Goals and Assessments: Lesson Objectives TSWBAT share the information they learned about their dinosaur with the class. Assessments Each student will give a short oral presentation to the class about the interesting facts they discovered pertaining to their dinosaur.

Materials: Published writing piece, illustration of dinosaurs, dinosaur foam board cut out Pre-Assessment/Prior knowledge: The students will assess their writing pieces and choose one fact about their dinosaur to share with the class. They will know how to make a successful oral presentation, as it is key to speak loudly and clearly for all to hear. Lesson Beginning: Students will have five minutes to make any final touches on their published paper or on their dinosaur picture. Students will then meet with their partner(s) to decide which fact each member will share with the class. Instructional Plan: - Each child will share a fact about their dinosaur while wearing the cardboard cutout. Differentiation: Students will be politely asked to orally present their research. Those who do not feel comfortable doing so will not be forced to, yet it is highly encouraged. Classroom management: Students will be expected to be quiet and respectful during each presentation. Children who are disruptive will be asked to return to their seats. Transitions: Students will use their published writing pieces to guide their presentations. We will have each pair of students sit together in a circle and have them present in the order in which they are sitting.

Closure: Each student will be given a round of applause for their hard work during this research project. Pictures will also be taken of the students. The students will return to their desk and will be presented with a gift bad and dinosaur themes cupcake. The teachers will thank the students for being a wonderful and respectful class.
