Summary: This article focused on how cyber bullying and other forms of bullying may also lead to more problems in the future such as violent behavior and substance use. Cyber bullying is especially focused on because of all the technological advances. Kids are now finding easy ways to bully someone through the technology. Violent behavior, substance use, and unsafe sexual behavior are a few of the potential risk factors that the bullies will be associated with or have experience with at that time. This is behavior that can also lead to suicidal actions. This article allows us to see the importance of reducing the risk of behaviors and taking a stand to end all forms of bullying in the future. 2. Journal Article

This article focused on strategies for teaching staffs to use when the problems are related to cyber bullying. It focuses on how the internet and cell phones are becoming the major forms of technology being used in the cyber bullying incidents. It allows the staff to be aware that just because these incidents may not take place on campus the students will still be affected by them when they come to school. Intervention strategies are presented to the staff and even to parents when dealing with all different forms of bullying. 3. Journal Article

Cyberbullying definition and measurement: Some critical considerations. Zeitschrift Fr Psychologie/Journal Of Psychology, 217(4), 230-232. Summary: The article focused on what cyber bullying actually was and described the process of how this can take place. They explained more about the communication process with technology. The focus was on the differences and similarities between the traditional form of bullying and cyber bullying. Studies have shown that little research has been done involving cyber bullying with forms of measurement. Researches want to identify the true issues with cyber bullying 4. Journal Article

Recommended practices: A review of schoolwide preventative programs and strategies on cyberbullying. Preventing School Failure, 55(2), 96-101.

Summary: This article focuses on how cyberbullying not only affects students, but also parents and administrators. They find that prevention programs focused at the school level would have the

strongest effect to address the concern of cyberbullying. The article also makes recommendations for schools to develop their own cyberbullying prevention program, in hope that the knowledge will carry through a students academic career and further on. 5. Taking the lead on cyberbullying: Why schools can and should protect students online. Iowa Law Review, 96(5), 1791-1811. Summary: This article explains that cyberbullying should be focused at the school level for the best defense against this problem. However, schools are worried about First Amendment lawsuits when punishing students for the cyberspeech. The article goes in to talking about justifying schools taking action when it comes to cyberbullying and that the schools are safe under the Tinker standard. Because of this, Schools Can and Should Protect Students Online. 6. "They're just being kids": Recognizing and preventing bullying. National Social Science Journal, 39(1), 56-64. Summary: This article starts out by citing reports from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on bullying-related suicide cases in young people. Several direct and indirect cases of bullying were explored, such as physical, emotional, cyber, and sexting that all take place on the Internet, YouTube, different social media, and cell phones. Finally, this article describes ways to recognize if someone is being bullied and how to prevent bullying in schoolaged children. 7. Journal Article Source: Frostburg State University

Journal Of Social Sciences, 6(4), 535-539. Summary: This article begins by defining bullying and how bullying has evolved from the schoolyard to electronics and technology. The point out that texting, voicemails, emails, posts on public websites (Facebook, Twitter) are most popular with young students. The article gets in depth about how educators can recognize bullying and what they can do to intervene, including training. This article believes that its not enough for parents to understand and be aware of cyberbullying; schools, teachers, and other personnel need to take an active stance against any kind of bullying. 8. International Journal of Computational Engineering Research, 1(1), 23-29. Summary: This journal investigates the emotional and physiological effects of cyber bullying on specific university students. The primary objective of their investigation was to identify the victims of cyber bullying and analyze their emotional state and frame of mind in order to provide them with a workable intervention in fighting cyber bullying.

It then begins talking about the methods used, charges that could be filed against a cyberbully and what happens when schools try to get involved. Further into the website, they define two kinds of cyber bullying- direct attacks and by proxy. They go into depth in defining and giving many examples of both types. Finally, there are safety precautions addressed.
