InTASC Standard 9: Professional Learning and Ethical Practice The teacher engages in ongoing professional learning and uses evidence to continually 5 evaluate his/her practice, particularly the effects of his/her choices and actions on others (learners, families, other professionals, and the community), and adapts practice to meet the needs of each learner. InTASC Standard 10: Leadership and Collaboration The teacher seeks appropriate leadership roles and opportunities to take responsibility for student learning, to collaborate with learners, families, colleagues, other school professionals, and community members to ensure learner growth, and to advance the profession.

Evidence to support the rating: Supervisor: Observation 1 Strengths: Kelly is a good listener and applies the suggestions of her cooperating and college supervisors. She is quickly stepping up as a teacher willing to work with colleagues and students. Goals: Seek out opportunities to work with other colleagues in the math department. From our talk today, the Algebra I teachers seem to have a good relationship working together. Foster new ideas from them in your presentations. Supervisor Observation 2: Strengths: Kelly has been attending school meetings to discuss the mission statement and rules with the staff at Hempstead High School. She also has been working with another math teacher in designing some lessons in Algebra I. Again, Kelly works well with her cooperating teacher and most willing to try his suggestions. Goals: Continue to seek out new strategies in teaching and give them a try while student teaching. Cooperating Teacher Midterm Strengths: Kelly has attended every meeting Ive had and adds to the discussion with her own thoughts and ideas. Whether she is offering to type up a worksheet, or share her prior experiences as a student, she does so in a very professional manner that shows she wants to improve herself and those around her. Goals: Kelly will continue to seek out her colleagues and ask them for new ideas on how to present the material at hand. Supervisor: Observation 2 Strengths: Kelly has worked well with her cooperating teacher and other members of the math team. She willing participates and gathers ideas from all of them. She offers tutoring sessions outside the school day either before or after school to help her students in gaining a better understanding of the material. She meets her behavioral issues head on and deals with them in a most professional manner. Goals: Continue to seek out activities outside the school day to give support to your students in their sports and activities. You will be surprised how much your students notice your attendance when you show up for their events.
