I. Explanation: How is the content of these artifacts used to demonstrate my competence in this PLO and what specific knowledge, skills, or belief systems are demonstrated? Self-reflections: Knowledge- The knowledge I gained from doing self reflections is that it helped me think back on the day and it helped me think on the activities that worked and the activities that did not work. I got knowledge on basing goals for myself and writing them down so I could remember to work on them. Skill- The skill I gained from the self reflections is that I am now able to complete a self reflection. I have the skill to reflect back on my activity and reflect with my mentor and

make a better activity. I also have the skill to set goals and make activities that will help me reach my goal. Belief- I believe it is important to complete self reflections because they will help me in my future to know how I could do certain activities. I also believe it is important to set goals on myself because they will help me become a better teacher. NAEYC Code of Ethics Scenarios Knowledge- The knowledge I gained from the code of ethics scenarios is that now I know what the NAEYC Code of Ethics is and I know what they contain inside. I know who I have the responsibility to when making decisions. Also, I know what sections to cite and look for when making decisions, or solving problems. Skills- I have the skill to complete a code of conduct scenario. I gained the skill to refer to the handbook for guidance and decision making. I have the skill to apply the ethical decisions using the handbook. Beliefs-I believe the NAEYC code of ethics are important to know because they can be used for guidance. I believe they are helpful in making important decisions about children, their families and other matters. II. Growth: How do these artifacts demonstrate my growth in knowledge and skill? Self-reflections: Knowledge- I have grown in my knowledge in self reflections because I am now able to reflect and understand why an activity turned out the way it did. I am now able to point out my defects in the activity and I am now able to reflect on how to make my activity

better. My knowledge in goal setting has improved because I am able to set higher goals for myself. Skill- My skills have improved because I am now able to reflect deeply on an activity and on the day. For example, I used to say, that activity was not good, I will try another one next time. Now I Say to myself, the activity did not work, how can I make it better. My skills have grown because now I do not just reflect on one activity but I am able to reflect on the whole week, like my teacher in charge week.

NAEYC Code of Ethics Scenarios Knowledge- I have grown in my knowledge of the code of ethics because I am now able to think of certain codes that will fit into a scenario without looking at the handbook. I now have the knowledge that I have as an educator I have a responsibility to the children and families in my classroom as well as the community. Skill- I have grown in my skill to make decisions. Before I would make decision on what I thought was right to do, but now I am able to make ethical decisions with information to backup my decisions. I also have the skill to take ethical actions in my decisions and I have the skill to properly asses a situation using the code of ethics. Beliefs-I believe it is important for me to have information to back up my beliefs, my assessments, and my decisions.

III. Application: How am I going to build on the knowledge and skills that are demonstrated (In other words, what are your next steps?) and how will the knowledge, skills, or belief systems be integrated into my future teaching practice. Self-reflections: In the future I will continue to write self reflections in order to better my skills in activity planning and as a teacher. I will continue to talk to other teacher to find activities and ways they handle situations. NAEYC Code of Ethics Scenarios In the future I will have a copy of the code of ethics in my classroom and analyze situations according to the code of ethics. I will take workshops to further understand the code of ethics.
