Email Project

Directions: This project must be completed as if your audience was someone who has never used or heard of email before. You will be working with 3 other people to complete the email project. All scratch work and preparatory worksheets must be stapled at the back of your final project. You will each chose 2 tasks to fulfill; one must be under the writing section. In addition, you must choose one of the group roles below.

Group Roles (6 points)

1. Group Leader- person in charge of making sure project is completed and group members stay on task 2. Group Supplier- person in charge of picking up (in the beginning of class)and taking back (at the end of class) all materials necessary for project 3. Group Organizer- person in charge of ensuring the project is well put together, organized and presentable

Writing Task (12 points)

Introduction: 1. Write 1 paragraph (5 sentences minimum) introducing email to someone who has no idea what it is. 2. List and explain 4 email features that a new email user should know about Netiquette: 1. Write 1 paragraph (5 sentences minimum) explaining what Netiquette is, why its important and when one should follow its rules 2. List the 4 most important rules you learned about, explain each rule and state why it is important to follow each rule Real World Application: 1. Write 1 paragraph (5 sentences) explaining how one might use email in the real world, why is it important to have an account and how might one find using email convenient 2. List 4 ways in which someone who is a professional might use email to perform their career responsibilities

Other Task (12 points)

Illustration: 1. Draw a screen shot of email 2. Label 5 icons on your screen shot 3. Color/Decorate your drawing Vocabulary: 1. Choose the 5 most important email vocabulary words 2. Define each vocabulary words in your own words 3. Give an example or drawing Step by Step Instructions: 1. Chose 2 task that email users must know how to perform 2. Create step by step instructions for those two task (task must require a minimum of 4 steps)
