Sofirstofftheeconomicspart.Slaverydroveinalotofrevenueasmoresupplywasable tobeproducedwithmorepeopleworking.Italsocreatedaclasssysteminthesouth.The plantationownerswouldbeaboutthehighestinthesystemandtheslavesandfreeafrican americansatthebottom.Americawouldalsohaveaslavetradewithothercountrieswhich droveinmoreprofits.AmericasslaveryhoweverIfoundoutwasmuchworsethananyother country.Itwasmoreviolentandhadmorehostileconditionsforafricanamericansthaninother countries.Nowanothereconomicalvalueofslaverywasthatitallowedmoreinventionstobe madelikethecottonginwhichcouldevenmoregreatlyspeedupproductionandmeetmore demand.Whenslaveryendedmoremachinesweremadetoreplaceslavessomoneycouldstill bemadeanddemandmet. Nowslaveryalsohadmanydisputesandcompromises.Oneofthebiggestbeingthe Missouricompromise.Thiscompromisemadein1820madeMaineafreestateandmissouria slavestate.Itregulatedslaveryinthewesternareas.Itwaslaterrepealedascongressdidnot havetheauthoritytoaddressslaveryintheterritories.Anothercompromisewasthatof1850 whichmadeCaliforniapartoftheunionandafreestate.Alsosomepeoplefeltthatslaves shouldnotlearnchristianitywhileothersthoughttheopposite.Slaveswerereluctanttoconvert sotheywouldtrytokeepintouchwiththereligionoftheirforefathers. NowtheAfricanAmericancontributedgreatlytotheendofslaveryandcertainfactorsof slavery.Duringslaveryafricanamericanswouldkeeptheirtraditionsaliveandusethemforother purposessuchasusingthedrumasawaytocommunicate.Aftertheywerefreetheywouldtry tobeabolitionistsinafighttoendslavery.JustlikeFrederickDouglas.Afterthewarandslavery thatfacedchallengessuchasracismandsegregationlateron.Sowhileitwasagreat economicalperiodforthewhitesitwasthedarkestoftimesforafricanamericans. Allofthisexplainswhyslaverywassuccessfultoapointbutdeservedtobeabolished. Ournationstruggledwithallthetensionbutthrivedwithalltherevenue.Thisiswhyitwassuch aharddecisiontodecidewhetherornottohaveslavery.Manyfeellikemethoughthattheright decisionwasmade.Slaveryisamonumentaltimeinthehistoryoftheunitedstatesthatliveon
