COURSE ASSESSMENT AND PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS Assessments are in the form of practice work files with self-checks, exams, writing assignments (short research essays in English, short paragraphs in Spanish), projects, oral assessments, and discussions. The instructor evaluates progress and provides interventions through the variety of assessments built into a course, as well as through contact with the student in other venues. PACING One advantage of the Blending Learning environment is the ability for students to work at relatively their own pace. However, it remains important for individuals to maintain a schedule for the submission of module assignments and to ensure timely completion of the course. The recommended pace for most students is to complete about one module per month (4-5 week period). ATTENDANCE Attendance is crucial to ones success in school. Just as students must adhere to an attendance policy in a face-to-face classroom, it is expected that students will work daily on this Spanish course. However, it is not mandatory for assignments to be submitted on a daily basis. Some days will be spent reviewing notes and lessons in preparation for tests, quizzes, and project completion.
