ELECTRICITY FROM FOOTSTEPS

BE PROJECT REPORT BY AARTI HAKKE SREYA DE SWATI SWAMI PROJECT GUIDE: PROF. P.S.CHAWRE

OUTLINE OF THE PRESENTATION

BASIC PRINCIPLE CONVERSION OF MECHANICAL ENERGY INTO USABLE ELECTRICAL ENERGY

FOOT STOP ELECTRIC CONVERTER (FSEC)

STATEMENT OF WORK

Pedestrians walking on a busy road

Kinetic Energy due to footsteps

Downward movement of the Plate of the device

Clean Electricity used for Various Purposes

Electricity stored in a 12V Lead Acid Battery via Inverter

Rotation of the Shaft of an Electric Alternator

FOOTSTEP ELECTRIC CONVERTING DEVICE

After applying weight (bulb lights up)

Before applying weight (no light)

BACKGROUND STUDY
LONDON BASED PAVEGEN SYSTEMS The technology consists of a rubber tile 45 x 60 cm in size. When stepped on, the tile bends slightly, around 5 mm, harvesting the kinetic energy generated by the footstep and converting it into usable electricity at a rate of about 7 watts per footstep. At that rate, it takes only five tiles to light up the streetlamps on a relatively busy street.

PROS AND CONS

HUMAN POWERED HARVESTING CLEAN SOURCE OF POWER REUSABLE RESOURCE POLLUTION FREE TANGIBLE AND ECO-FRIENDLY FULL POTENTIAL YET TO BE TESTED BULKY SYSTEM

IDEAS AND MODIFICATIONS

REDUCTION OF THE SIZE OF THE DEVICE TO A USABLE SIZE USE OF THE SAME IDEA TO CREATE RUBBER TILES FOR EASIER USE USE OF THE SAME IDEA FOR AN ELECTRICITY GENERATING SHOES IMAGINE!!! CHARGING YOUR CELL PHONES WHILE MERE WALKING!!!
