Agenda for Parent MeetingGODSPELL June 3, 2012 7:00 p.m. A.

Audition Process: How we choose the cast, inclusive philosophy/unique to this show? B. What is Godspell?: The original production was a collection of improvised scenes based on the Gospel according to St. Matthew and music based on traditional hymns. It was one of the longest running Off-Broadway musicals and moved to Broadway in 1976 where it ran for more than 2600 performances. It was revived on Broadway in 2012. Godspell is about the formation of a community out of disparate people coming together over very basic and simple philosophical concepts, such as: Always treat others as you would have them treat you, or Anything you do for one of your brothers here, you do for me. The show, which is not built on a traditional plot, uses puppetry, story theater, pantomime, charades, vaudeville and other theatrical devices depending on the talents of the individual actors. C.
